I read The Kite Runner a couple of years ago, so I roughly knew what to expect—an insider look into the culture of Afghanistan, with a deeply emotional angle to it. I was not disappointed. 5 of 5.
To these who are shocked by how women are treated by their husbands, please keep in mind that similar mistreatment may be happening in Western culture countries too. Wherever alcohol, not love, decides about the direction of family’s course, chances are there is injustice happening and tormenting, either mental or physical.
