Gosh, it’s good to be a man, and a husband, too
I shamefully must admit that all I read in the book made perfect sense to me. Men are really simple creatures who want to do no harm. Husbands really care about their wives, it’s just that they do silly things from time to time. If their wives forgive them for it, and see the big picture, their marriages will be happy and long-lasting.
Respect for what is different in both of us is so important in my marriage. I am who I am. I want to do good—I want to be a good husband, a friend and lover to my wife. I want to be a good father to my children. I want to respect my wife’s needs, appreciating that they’re different from mine. It’s the perfect marriage when a wife thinks the same about the relationship she has to the husband.
