I have just a couple of points about this book.
- reading a book the second time, even if it is some twenty years after the first time is not such a big fun. This time I could appreciate the language, as I read in English, especially the artificially sounding English of the Japanese. Who would use syntax like this: “German thugs dead or dying. Verify empirically”?
- you have no idea how hungry for any sign of sensuality teens can be. I remember when I read the book the first time, at the time when I was close to 15, I paid so much attention to the pin Juliana used to securely hold her bust in the new blue dress. It was just a detail, but I still remember it 20 years later
